Foundation Receives Second Consecutive 4-Star Rating From Nation’s Largest Independent Charity Evaluator

Headquartered in Hampton, Virginia, Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) is a national non-profit organization that protects patients through the effective use of mediation to ensure “access to care, maintenance of employment and preservation of their financial stability relative to their diagnosis of life threatening or debilitating diseases.” Among the many things PAF does, they provide personalized case management and co-payment assistance to patients across the United States but particularly in Virginia—PAF received referrals and requests for mediation from 286,995 Virginia patients in 2010 alone.
The organization received top marks from Charity Navigator for sound fiscal management as well as commitment to transparency and accountability. Charity Navigator is America’s largest independent charity evaluator, working to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic marketplace by evaluating the financial health, accountability and transparency of over 5,500 of America’s largest charities.
