Florida’s Foreclosure Mediation Program Ends

The mandatory mediation foreclosure program in Florida was terminated by the Supreme Court Chief Justice this week. The program was established in 2009 but has had little success in the past months—with settlement rates as low as four percent. Although the program has helped a few struggling borrowers and homeowners, with such low success rates, perhaps the money can be put to better use elsewhere.
