Tourism suffers on the Island where Nelson Mandela was jailed for 18 years as a dispute over ferry incidents intensifies. The conflict resulted in the firing of the harbor master who is now contesting the decision at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).

As the dispute continues to intensify, the parties must remember what is actually important—the safety of the ferry passengers and the protection of a world heritage site.
