More African Presidents Take Action to Help Resolve Ivory Coast Dispute

As Gbagbo supports fight to keep their leader in power, Ouattara supporters call for a “revolution” a la Egyptian fashion. As violence continues and fear of civil war grows, the presidents from Chad, Mauritania, South Africa, and Tanzania arrived in the Ivory Coast to break the impasse with a new set of proposals.

The leaders gathered with other African Union leaders to create a strategy to end the deadlock that has already taken the lives of three hundred people. Despite careful strategizing, both sides fear that the presidential group will be unable to move the parties toward resolution.
