Could Transformative Mediation Help Your Marriage?

Divorce attorney and mediator Laurie Israel utilizes mediation to help couples improve their marriage before breakdown ultimately leads to divorce. This type of transformative mediation looks beyond the result-focused “traditional” mediation which fails to address the root of the problem. Instead, transformative mediation is a free-form process allowing parties to explore issues that are troubling their marriage.

Transformative mediators provide feedback on patterns of conflict, communication issues, and negative feelings in the relationship. While Laurie Israel insists that no counseling or advice is given, this method does seem to precariously border on “practicing therapy.”
