Dist. 205 and Teachers Hit Negotiations Snag

Local Board of Education and Teachers Council seek the services of a mediator to help negotiate contract terms. Prior to seeking mediation services, the parties used their training in “Interest-Based Bargaining” to learn and understand each sides’ interests and concerns.

Although the collaborative process ultimately failed, the exchange of information and the “team-effort” to work together is a good beginning to the mediation process. Hopefully, the mediator will be able to build upon the rapport that has already been established between both sides.
