Decision in NFL Dispute Looming

NFL, Players Reconvene for Mediation as Judge’s Ruling Looms

Today, NFL players and league officials resume a third day of mediation ordered by U.S. District Judge Nelson. The hearing was held on April 6 and the Judge required two weeks to make a decision. As a result, both “sides are now operating in an environment in which Nelson could issue a ruling on the players’ request for an injunction to stop the NFL lockout.”

Whatever the Judge decides, an appeal is nearly certain to follow. Because the decision is quickly approaching, “it’s unknown if there’s enough urgency inside the mediation to spur the sides to a deal.”
