Libya Seeking Russia's Help

Russia Calls for Immediate Ceasefire, Civilian Protection in Libya

Russian leader calls for an immediate cease-fire in Libya. Russian Foreign minister Lavrov emphasized the importance of stopping the suffering of civilians so “it is necessary to unconditionally comply with the relevant resolutions made by the U.N. Security Council and ensure an immediate cease-fire.”

Moscow is confident that taking those measures would help create a resolution to the conflict. On the other hand, the Libyan prime minister has focused on the importance of Libyan officials to find political solutions and that Libyan officials were interested in Russia’s contribution to the search for a peaceful settlement.
