Boundary Row: CM for Third-Party Mediation

In order to resolve the decades-old boundary dispute Assam and Nagaland, the Chief minister Tarun Gogoi has insisted on third-party mediation. Gogoi met with the Supreme Court appointed mediator and they discussed the best way to resolve the age-old dispute between the two states.

Through an “accommodative attitude” and “taking the people into confidence,” the chief minister believes that mediation can provide the solution. To settle the dispute once and for all, a government spokesperson said, “The state government approached the Supreme Court so that the problem is resolved permanently. The apex court verdict will be binding upon one and all.”
