Hangover Cure: Warner Bros. Settles Copyright Suit Over Tyson Tattoo

S. Victor Whitmill, a tattoo artist, filed a copyright lawsuit against Warner Bros. claiming that the body art encircling the left eye of the Helms character in the Hangover II movie is a duplicate of the tattoo that Whitmill designed on the same spot on Mike Tyson’s face.

There was talk of digitally altering the tattoo out of the DVD version if the parties did not settle before the movie ended its run in theatres. Fortunately, a confidential deal was reached on Friday during an all-day mediation. In a joint statement, a party attorney said, “Warner Bros. and Whitmill have amicably resolved their dispute. No other information will be provided.”
