NFL dispute continues

Goodell, Smith back in Minnesota to Negotiate

Roger Goodell and DeMaurice Smith attended talks among rookies in Florida and then Minnesota for talks to try to end the pro football’s labor impasse. Although the two individuals didn’t have any answers when asked by the rookies about the impasse, their joint appearance was seen as a positive sign.

NFL Player Association spokesman George Atallah said, “That’s really the significance of this. There’s a lockout happening now, but we’ve got to look forward and consider the necessity to have a positive working relationship with the league.” The uncertainty of the situation makes this a “crazy time” especially since the players don’t know when they’re going to start and they don’t have money in their pockets.
