The Mediation Room: Environment Matters

My Office: This Office Has All The Comforts of Home

Carol Terzo and her three partners opened “The Mediation Option” and created their firm in a unique and creative way. Terzo who spent more than twenty years as a judge said that she and the partners wanted the mediation rooms to feel like home: “We have people who come in, take off their shoes and curl up on the couch.”

Some rooms have pillows and lounge chairs while others have kitchen tables stocked with chocolate candies, salty snacks, and drinks. To help people be at ease, the four partners researched paints so that the rooms would be inviting and they picked furniture that will make their clients “feel like you might be at home talking around the kitchen table.”
