Collective Bargaining in Canada

Air Canada, Pilots Enter Mediation Over Collective Agreement

In its negotiations with 3,000 pilots, Air Canada refused to extend the 60 day conciliation period which has triggered a 21 day mediation period over the collective bargaining proposal with its pilots. Air Canada Pilots Association president Capt. Paul Strachan expressed his frustration saying “I don’t see how that does anybody any good. There’s no crisis here, no deadline.”
