Tentative Police Deal Averts Arbitration

The Police in London have reached an agreement so taxpayers will not have to pay for the costly contract arbitration. A supporter of the city police budget said, “Arbitration awards take wage settlements — and their cost to taxpayers — out of the hands of local authorities, often without regard for local circumstances and with higher costs than municipalities want.”
