TCU/IAM Condemns Congressional Attack on Rail Workers’ Rights

President of Transportation Communications Union criticized a recent Congressional proposal that would cut funding for the Federal Aviation Administration at the expense of railroad workers’ collective bargaining rights and dilutes the authority of the National Mediation Board.

Moreover, “The proposal also seeks to encumber the National Mediation Board with onerous oversight by the Comptroller General which could seriously impede the Board’s abilities under its mediation functions and in its role in railroad arbitrations.”
