Mediating Small Claims by Phone

Mediation by Telephone Aims to Speed up Small Claims

Ministry of Justice in the UK plans to reduce court load by removing approximately 80,000 small claims cases through telephone-based mediation services. The cases will be diverted to this “cheaper, quicker” and more accessible form of settlement. Altough the program is not mandatory, many lawyers and judges are strongly opposed to the concept.
