Sudan Oil Talks Fail

Sudan and South Sudan talks continue but the parties have yet to reach a deal on the charge to transport oil produced in the land-locked South through the North’s pipelines. The latest failure is attributed to Juba’s “negative attitude” during the negotiations. The latest round of talks occurred during the end of January in Ethiopia under the mediation of the African Union High Level Pane (AUHIP) led by former South African President Thabo Mbeki.
