Racewalker Doping Appeal Fails

2004 Silver Medalist Will Have to Sit Out of London Games

Francisco “Paquillo” Fernandez, a Spanish walker, will miss the London Games for possession of endurance-boosting drug EPO in 2009. The Court of Arbitration for Sports upheld an appeal by the IAAF banning Fernandez for two years. Fernandez is three-time world champion in the 20-kilometer walk.
