ECOWAS Plans Mali Mediation Mission

Country Needs Dialogue to Avoid Unnecessary Bloodshed and Destruction

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is preparing to send a team to Mali to promote resolution between the government and the rebels in light of next month’s scheduled elections. ECOWAS director said, “the bloc wants to bring the two sides together to discuss what is behind the rebellion, and that it is hopeful the mediation will work.”
