Repsol moves toward Arbitration in Dispute with Argentina

Dispute Over Buenos Aires Nationalization of Company

As the first step towards invoking international arbitration, Spanish Oil Major Repsol sent a letter to the Argentine President proclaiming a dispute over the nationalization of one of its company’s branches. In additional to pursuing legal action, the parties will go to ICSID if they can’t resolve the issues on compensation within six months.
