Scott Messer is founder of Mediative Concepts, a consulting company that focuses mainly on mediation and employee relations in St. Petersburg, Florida. Messer volunteers at the county mediating cases involving discrimination coming before the Human Rights Office. He comments on the effectiveness of mediation saying, “Sometimes it’s just correcting a misunderstanding. Some cases involve getting a person’s job back. On rare occasions a settlement has been made with just a simple apology.”
