Marriage Mediation Offers Promise, Perils 

Couple Turns to Commune Chief to Resolve Marital Disputes

Couples meet with mediator both separately and together to help resolve domestic violence dispute in conjunction with the non-profit human rights organization Adhoc which is located in the Kampong Speu province. Head of the Adhoc’s women section, Chuon Chamrong, said “Mediation could be helpful for minor crimes or civil conflict, but it leads to a culture of impunity, especially with rape, because of a weakness of law enforcement in preventing such crimes from happening.”
