African Mediation Proposes New Map to End Deadlock

Sudan-South Sudan Deadlock Reaching Resolution?

African Union mediation has proposed a map to delegations from both Sudan and South Sudan with the hopes of reaching an agreement on the security issues. The countries are fighting over an area between South Darfur and NOrhtern Bahr al Ghazal which consists of 14 miles of grazing area crucial to the Darfur tribes and Dinka Malual. “The parties have to reach an agreement within three months in accordance with a road map prepared by the African Union and endorsed by the UN Security Council.”
