Pro-West Arabs Preventing Iraq from Mediating in Syria

The Arab League has formed a special committee to deal with the Syria conflict. Iraq would serve as a great mediator between the Arab League and Syrian officials due to its good relationship with both sides. However, “members of the Arab League have accused the Iraqi government of partiality toward Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The critical members are the same countries that have made the utmost efforts over the past few months to topple the Syrian government.”
