Nuns sue Boston Archdiocese over retirement funds

Dispute between Roman Catholic nuns and Boston Cardinal (trustee of church-run pension fund) over $1.37 million is headed to mediation. The dispute involves three issues surrounding the retirement fund of the nuns. For now, both parties are willing to participate in the mediation in good faith. The calculation of the nun’s assets in the benefit trust will be resolved in mediation.

While the headlines “nuns sue cardinal” seem quite exciting, this dispute really is about a group of employees suing the trustee of a pension fund. Hopefully through mediation, the issues can be resolved.
