Maldives Requests UN Mediation Regarding Jailed Judge

The Maldives foreign minister has made an official request to the United Nations to mediate in an ongoing dispute over the arrest of a criminal court judge there. The Maldives has seen eight straight nights of protest over the jailing of criminal court judge Abdulla Mohamed by former pro democracy campaigner President Mohamed Nasheed.
