Largest US City Seeks Bankruptcy Protection

Stockton, California with a population of 290,000 people is now the largest US city to seek bankruptcy protection since Stockton leaders failed to close the $26 million gap in the budget. Last year, 13 United States cities sought bankruptcy protection-the most in any one year since 1994.
