New mediation program in Oregon which was supposed to help homeowners avoid foreclosure has not worked as planned. Now, lawmakers, state officials, and consumer advocates are back in the Legislature to fix it: “By expanding that bill to include non-judicial and judicial foreclosure we will ensure that all Oregonians who are at risk of foreclosure have the opportunity to simply sit down with their lender and a neutral third party regardless of the type of foreclosure and work out an alternative.”
