To avoid a strike by 62 Vermont bus drivers, the Chittenden-County Transport Authority has asked the union to agree to go to arbitration. If the federal mediation taking place today does not result in settlement, the strike could begin early Friday morning.
Acting general for the transport authority hopes that the drivers will reconsider even if the Thursday mediation fails stating, “we understand how badly that will impact our passengers and people who rely on us and we want to do everything possible to avoid that.”
