Hospital-Based Intervention Program Recognized

Pathways to Peace is a hospital-based intervention program which consists of a team of volunteers who use counseling and mediation to help young people deal with violent situations. In being recognized for preventing violence in the city and county, the director Victor Sanders said, “These guys are out of their beds in the middle of the night dealing with violent issues that others do have to deal with on a regular basis. They’re on the streets when violence is getting ready to erupt, and these are the guys that are in the trenches stopping a lot of those instances from occurring.”
