Resolving Employment Discrimination Cases

Lauren Schaefer has handled employment disputes from both sides—as general counsel for companies as well as for plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit involving gender discrimination. She believes that the lack of mediation at the EEOC might be a missed opportunity: “My view is that it’s important as a matter of public policy that our resources go to try to help the parties resolve the dispute. Right now there is a huge missed opportunity.”
