Lawyers, mediators, and divorce experts scrambling under new tax break in GOP bill

For the past 75 years, spousal support was deductible for the payor and the recipient paid income tax on it it.  Under the new GOP tax bill, alimony will no longer be deductible for the payor making the process messier and negotiations more difficult. Justin Reckers, a certified divorce financial analyst, said, "It's a lost tool for the purpose of settling cases outside of the court system...you might see more cases go to court now."
