Airline and Cabin Crew Agree to Mediate Dispute Over Retirement Benefits

In an effort to cut costs to compete with low-costs carriers like Ryanair and easyJet, German Carrier Lufthansa is "squabbling with employees on multiple fronts" including the retirement plan. Parties agree to mediation in an effort to find a quick resolution. Last year, pilots staged 10 strikes over the retirement plan which cost the airline approximately $232 million in profit.
